His childhood is known that he is the son of a farmer. He was born on 21 May 1979 in the interior of South Sumatra.
He is the sixth child of seven brothers who grew up in a simple family. The childhood life that passes with great simplicity makes it a simple person until this day.
The figure looks not much style and stay humble in life. Tere Liye received elementary education at SDN 2 Kikim Timur, South Sumatra.
Then he continued his education to SMPN 2 Kikim, South Sumatra. After that, his senior high school was spent at SMAN 9 Bandar Lampung.
While studying high, he wandered to the land of Java by attending one of the best universities namely University of Indonesia and college at the Faculty of Economics. History education is able to describe the figure of people who have intelligence so no wonder if his works became so phenomenal.
About his love life is also not too much known. However, he is now married to a beautiful woman named Riski Amelia and is blessed with two children, a boy named Abdullah Pasai and a daughter named Faizah Azkia.
The fact that not many people knows that Tere Liye's name is not a real name, but only a pen name always embedded in every novel. His original name is known as Darwis.
Currently he is known to work as an office employee and work as an accountant. With a distinctive look that often uses kikelluk and casual clothes, Tere Liye said that writing for him is a hobby.
Tere Liye's name comes from the Indian language which means "for you". Biography Tere Liye besides being a writer he is also known to undergo routine as an office worker by becoming an accountant.

1. Hafalan Shalat Delisa.

This novel tells of a man named Dam who was as a child was given stories of the wisdom from his father who doubted the stories since finding a similar from the book he found in the library. Because of that, Dam did not want his father to influencing his children Zas and Qon with stories he could have as a child. But Zas and Qon like the story of their grandfather. Until one day Dam faced the circumstances in which his father's stories proved.
5. Rembulan Tenggelam di Wajahmu.
